How to disable Parental control to get Live Updates from Norton

I installed Norton 306 Internet Security. When I try to get Live Updates
there is no internet connection via Microsoft Outlook. The Norton trouble
shooting excercise has come up with a recommandation that I dosable Parental
Control from my internet provider to allow internet connection to receive
Updates. How do I disable Parental Control? I am the administrator of this
computer, which is not accessible to minors anyway.

BUT THERE COULD BE ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH OUTLOOK. IN FACT I HAVE HEARD A
NUMBER OF LESS THAN ENTHUSIASTIC COMMENTS ABOUT IT, MANY PREFERRING OTHER
INTERNET PROVIDERS

I installed Norton 306 Internet Security. When I try to get Live
Updates there is no internet connection via Microsoft Outlook.

Live Updates (for Norton products) do *not* go through Outlook. Live
Updates uses Norton's own updater process. Outlook is an e-mail client,
not the networking components needed to provide an Internet connection.

The Norton trouble shooting excercise has come up with a
recommandation that I dosable Parental Control from my internet
provider to allow internet connection to receive Updates.

Parental Control is a component of the Norton product, not of the
service from your ISP. You will need to disable the Parental Control
feature within the Norton product.

How do I disable Parental Control?

Norton doesn't include help on how to use their product? It isn't
obvious when going into the Norton product or using its system tray
icon on how to disable components of that bundled product? Have you
checked the Add/Remove Programs applet to see if you can modify the
Norton install(s) (to remove some of their components, like the
Parental Controls feature in the add-on pack)?

I am the administrator of this computer, which is not accessible to
minors anyway.

The uninstall the Parental Control module from the Norton installation.
Parental Controls, Antispam, and other optional features, like
blocking private data from leaking to the Internet, are part of the
add-on pack of online tools. If you don't want the fluff, uninstall
it. You claim to be the administrator so you can uninstall software.

Outlook is *not* an Internet provider. It is an e-mail client that
runs on your host.
