How to disable the auto-center feature

Every time I move an object (a picture or graphic) within PowerPoint 2007 the
slide is automatically centered. This feature is extremely frustrating when
I have the slide zoomed in at 400% and I'm working in the corner; every time
I move a line the slide is recentered and I have to move the slider to get
back where I was working.

Is there any way to disable this auto-centering feature?
