How to display project date on report

Hi-- I have a project that spans two days and I'm printing each day on its
own page. I want to be able to display the actual day that the tasks occur on
each page. I can't seem to find an appropriate field in the drop down box in
the print options. Is it possible to do this? Many thanks.

If you're printing a Gantt chart, zoom in to day by day. Under Tools,
Options and the View tab, select a date format that includes the day of the
week.

I should have mentioned I'm using Project 2000. I can make those menu choices
but I have to manually choose which fields get displayed at the top (header)
of my report. I still can't see which field would place the date on the
report. Thanks Rod.

HI,

I can't remember 2000's exact capabilities, but you should un Page Setup be
able to add a date field in the header. However that's the print date, you
can't automatically add a day of the week title in the header without using
VBA.

What View or Report are you printing?

I'm printing the GANTT chart view. If I adjust the zoom I can get at least
one of the date headers to appear automatically, but the first date doesn't
appear. It's unbelievable that one of the fields isn't "calendar date". My
Gantt chart is zoomed to Day and Hours.

This is a clunky program. It would be nice to be able to change the printout
design without having to mess around with the data entry portion of the
program. Lots of formatting to make the data entry easier, only to have to
mess it up when doing the printing. I'm wondering if newer versions of
Project have more robust print features.

It's a hassle to have to hide columns that I don't want to appear on the
report printout only to have to open them back up again when doing data
entry. Very poor design. Oh well.

You should use View, More Views to create a Gantt Chart - Print View you
only use for printing. Keep the original Gant Chart View for working on.

I can't visualize what you are seeing when you print. Try double-clicking
the timescale and experimenting with different settings.
