How to distribute a project plan to other areas of the user community

I work in IT as the Project Server administrator. A project manager
has asked me if there is a way to email an attached file to users
outside of IT that have a role in a project plan. These users do not
have Project on their desktop so they cannot open a project file. They
need the information that describes their assignments. Any ideas or
suggestions are appreciated.

Why don't you simply add these people to Project Web Access as users?
Depending on their role, you can simply add their user accounts and add them
to the appropriate security groups. Just a thought. Hope this helps.

I agree with Dale - for my company I have many different departments around
the world that access PWA for their tasks. Give them sharepoint access as
well and they can see everything that you want them to on a project
