HOW TO DISTRIBUTE or SHARE the local global.mpt file

Hi:

I added some code to customize the menu and saves it
in Global.mpt.So things are working fine in my PC.Now i
want to DISTRIBUTE this macro to all users or Project
Managers who are using project professional.I dont want
other users to do the same excerise which i did to
customize the menu.
What's the way to distribute the macros directly
somewhere so whenever any user opens Project Pro , he can
use this macro facility?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Kon,
I use the Tools | Organizer option to transfer objects to
other users. First, I copy the objects into an .mpp file
(using the organizer).
Then I email to a remote user with instructions for them
to copy all the objects into their global.mpt file.
Hope this helps.

A simple way is to create a new project. Move the menu etc. into that file
with the organizer.
Now turn on the macro recorder.
Set it to save in the local project instead of the global.mpt
Use the organizer to move everything from that file to your global.mpt file.
Turn off the macro recorder.
Send the file to your users and have them open it and run that macro.

You may have a few problems if you are exporting views and tables.
Make sure that the filters and tables get copied over before the views.

Another way is to put the customized global.mpt file on a shared network folder, creating a shortcut on the users workstations, setting the shortcut parameter "target" to "C:\...winproj.exe" and the shortcut parameter "start in" to the referred network folder. When starting this shortcut, the customized global.mpt functions will take place. The advantage of this approach is to keep global.mpt functions updated for everybody, with a single update point
