how to do sever side validation

hi,
on button click I want to check whether the Field data that i am enterring
through form is already exist in the form library on not...
also how to get refrence to the button clicked...
also how to get refrence to the form library on which the infopath form in
used as content type
Thanx in advace..Please help.
