One can't download the "full" applications online, but Microsoft offers the
free "Viewer" version of these two products for download. The "Viewer"
version is not likely what you need, since you won't be able to make changes
to documents, just view and print them after they've been created by others.
In case you want to see for yourself, you can find Microsoft's Office
Viewers here:

It's possible to purchase the "full" versions of Office applications on
CD's. If you need both Word and Excel, then I would recommend that you try
to purchase the Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially if you
are eligible for the Students and Teachers edition, as the Office suite is
bound to be cheaper than buying the two standalone applications separately.
If by "millenium 2000" you mean the Windows Millennium Edition (Windows ME)
operating system that was published in the year 2000, then it's compatible
with Microsoft Office 97, 2000, or XP versions. Windows ME doesn't support
Microsoft Office 2003, which is the current version of Office, so you would
need to upgrade your operating system to use Office 2003 or else purchase an
older version of Office.
It's possible to find Microsoft Office XP in some retail stores, but it will
be very difficult, since Microsoft Office 2003 is the only version currently
being manufactured and distributed to retail outlets. EBay's online
auctions, at
www.eBay.com, or one of the online used software vendors might
have the older versions of Microsoft Office for sale. Check any of the
following for current availability and prices:
