How to draw semi circle in word?

You can do this with the Block Arc AutoShape, by dragging the yellow
diamond. It takes a fair amount of trial and error but *can* be done.

In addition to what Suzanne suggests, the regular Arc tool can be used in
the same way if you do actually want a semi-circle... open path like the
letter C.

If you want a hemisphere - closed path like the letter D - choose More
Autoshapes from the AutoShapes menu & look for either Pie Slice or Chord in
the Task Pane. Remove the shadow from the one you choose & rotate, size &
fill as desired.

Thanks for this tip. Whenever I've absent-mindedly (forgetting past
experience) clicked on More AutoShapes, I've (very slowly) gotten what looks
like a gallery of clip art, and I hadn't, I guess, persevered far enough to
find the more or less basic shapes, much less to consider that the shadows
could be removed.

Glad you found it useful, Suzanne... I stumble across these things every now
& then ;)

I could say something about blind pigs, but it would have to apply to me,
not you!
