Hello
How to edit an imported from wmf file vector graphic in Word 2003 sp3? I
rotated the graphic in Word. Then I wanted to delete some lines. I chose
"Edit picture" and got "This is an imported picture, not a group. Do you
wand to convert it to a Microsoft Office drawing object?". I chose the only
choice "Yes", and word rotated back and stretched horizontally. Then I tryed
to rotate again and only half of lines rotated. The vector graphic was saved
in HP PrecisionScan 3.1 Pro as "Scalable graphic". I tryed to regroup but
still only half of lines rotated.

Hi Dmitriy,

The only way you'll be able to edit the picture satisfactorily is to work in a
graphics program, then reimport the picture (unless you have it linked, then
you can just update the link).

Word is NOT a graphics program; it's a word processor. It's graphics editing
tools are primarily for working with the Office Drawing objects, plus very
basic stuff used for laying out the Word document. You need to use the proper
tools for a task.

Hi Dmitriy,
What are "the proper tools for" my task?
It depends on exactly what you're doing. If you need to
work with Vector graphics, then you need a graphics
program that supports that format. In this case, Windows
Paint accessory is NOT what you need.

Personally, I prefer PaintShopPro for "low-level" graphics
work. Some people like SnagIt.

Thanks for your replies.
I could delete lines in my other vector graphic in Word 2002 sp3. I just
could not regroup the current graphic. Only half of lines united in one
group. Why did not all lines unite? I selected all the graphic by Ctrl+A.
