How to eliminate dates prior to the project start

Our project starts essentially today but Project's calendar starts in like,
Jan 2000 or something. How do I eliminate dates prior to our project's
start?

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Are you referring to the Gantt Chart timeline or to printing reports? I would go to Project/Project Information and change the Project Start date to its new date. Provided you haven't any constraints, Project should adjust accordingly. Or you might try the Adjust Dates macro on the Analysis toolbar. If the Analysis Toolbar is not available, please see FAQ Item: 46. Analysis Toolbar
