How to embed a movie on to a powerpoint

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) I am trying to embed a movie into a powerpoint but it is only inserting the link. I need to be able to give other people my power point with the movie attached. Can this be done?

Movies are always linked, never embedded, which means you have to send
the movie file along with the PPT.

And to pile on to what David said, you can use a built-in feature of
PowerPoint to include the movie and make sure the link works.

Use File > Save As and change the file type to PowerPoint package. This
makes a folder that contains a copy of your presentation with copies of
linked media and fixes all the links.
