How to enable extension names?

I am currently using both Office 03 and Office 07 with WinXP Pro SP3.
Whenever I try to open a file, I only see file names but no extension name.
Under "detail" mode, I can see file size, file type and date modified.
Could someone tell me how to enable to reveal file extension name? Jorge

It is a Windows Explorer setting. In Windows Explorer, go to Tools, Folder
Options, View Tab and clear the check against 'Hide extensions for know file
types'.
