How to enter Time Extensions once project has started

P

P J McCarthy

We have set up the program and now due to rain and other delays the
completion date has now been delayed. As this progect was not set up working
from the finish date I would like to know how to extend/delay all tasks from
a particular date. eg Project started on 1st Jan and completion date was 30th
Jan and then we had 3 delayed days from 10th - 13th Jan. I would like to
then extend/move all tasks (current and future tasks) 3 days to reflect the
new completion date of 4th July.

Any help wuggestions would be greatly appricated as during this project that
has 80 different taks will have many rain and other delays.

We are currently using 2007 version of Project.

Thank you in advance.

Under Tools/Tracking/Update Project, there is an option to move all
uncompleted work forward beyond a date of your choosing. You can do
this for the entire project or for selected tasks only.

Hello P J McCarthy,

In addition to the suggestion from Dave & Trevor, you can also modify the
project calendar to put in 3 non-working days in January. Non-working time
in a project automatically reschedules any tasks scheduled for those days to
the next working day. If you have created your schedule with predecessors
and successors as appropriate, any successor tasks to the tasks that were
shifted would change as well.

I hope this helps.
