How to exclude certain email adresses from out of office replies?

Is it possible to exclude certain emailadresses from the out of office reply
assistant?

We have lots of users >1000. Some are subscribed to newsgroups.
We / They don't want out of office replies being send to those newsgroups.
We do want to send out of office replies to everybody else (internal and
external)

=> It is undoable to let all the users set up their own server rules

Why is it NOT possible to enter exceptions in the out of office assistant?
