how to export an access table to a plain text file?

I usually open the table to be exported from Access. Then
select File/Export to bring up the wizard. Give your
export file a name. Choose your desired delimiter and
other parameters on the screens that follow.

If you need a fixed-length file, I have found it better to
create a report with the record format and export using
that.
