How to export Entourage Contacts to Mac Address book?

I am trying to export my contacts from Entourage 10.1.6 into Mac
Address Book 3,1,2 . When I export contacts in Entourage, i can only
export a txt file. In Address book, I can only import a vCard or LDIF
file.
I'm on a Mac G5 OS 10.3.9 .
Any help much appreciated.

Hi Pierre,

it's not too difficult, once you know how:

* create a new folder on your desktop

* switch to Entourage's address book and select all your contacts (click on
one contact, then hit Cmd + A or click on Edit>Select All)

* drag the contacts into the folder on your desktop, where they will show up
as individual .vcf files.

* open Address Book, then switch to the Finder and select all the .vcf files
in your folder

* move the files into Address Book, and they should import just fine

There are a couple of scripts out there that allow you to import text files
into Address Book, but I guess the option I've just described is easier to
use.
