how to export/move out OLE photos

NetworkTrade

have an A2000 mdb where they embedded lots of photos into forms that need to
be taken out and saved. To cut them out is easy - but when I try to then
immediately paste the photo into a standalone empty folder it results in a
"scrap object" icon that I can not open. Anyone done this?
