How to Fill-in Freehand shapes

How do you fill-in a shape that has been manually created by freehand or
straight lines?

You're a legend !!

Your suggested URL gave give the solution of using 'Shape
Menu>Operations\Union'. I then filled the united shape.

Don't get exited.
I vaguely reminded my problems with it and an anwer. So I did a search on
this site. I don't really understand the solution, I must confess.
Especially when to fragment is the answer.
