How to filter emails with gif attachments for deletion?

I was wondering if anyone knows how to create a rule in Outlook that looks
for emails with .gif attachments and transfers them to the junk mail or
deleted folder. Many spammers pushing prescription drugs or stock picks are
embedding their messages in .gif attachments where they can't be text
filtered.

There are third-party tools that can do that, I believe. Outlook's basic
rules can't detect specific attachment types.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem with an on-going stock spam, all attached as
..gif files. I couldn't find anything in Outlook rules but I'm using AVG Pro
antivirus and there is a setting for email scanning that allows you to filter
out on attachments and you can specify the type. So, all .gif files deleted
now.

Check your antivirus to see if you have a similar capability.

Regards,

Gib
