how to fix a missing skin file on startup of Word?

I already tried removing, reinstalling, etc...no luck. Nothing is on the web
or microsoft sites..and the tech support won't help. Any ideas? Thanks!

There are no such things as 'skins' in Word. Would you please explain what
you mean by 'skins' and also which version of Office and OS that you are
using.

I have Office 2007...it was just an error upon starting up both Excel and
Word. It say "unable to load skin file" please reinstall application". but
upon complete removal of office then reinstallation, its the same error.
what might i do?

Well something else is trying to open that is missing its skin. It has
nothing to do with Office.

Maybe you have installed a very badly written utility that has installed an
add-in in Office that is causing the error. But it isn't Office itself that
is causing the error. Maybe the following FAQs will help diagnose the
