How to flip Y-axis ruler?

Guy..L

The user group wants the Y axis to be positive underneath zero and negative
above. On the standard Visio rulers, when displayed, the top is positive and
the bottom is negative (ie., the Y value increases as you go up).

Is it possible to flip the Y axis and how?

Hello Guy,

Yes, it's possible to change the ruler layout, but bear in mind this does
change the drawing coordinates as this is fixed. Ruler layout is a property
of the page, so try the following:

1) With nothing selected on your page, select Window / Show ShapeSheet (This
will open the ShapeSheet for the active page.)

2) Find the cell named 'YRulerOrigin' (under the Ruler & Grid section)

3) Change the formula for the cell to the height of your page. (For
example, if your page is 297mm then write that into the cell.)

4) Close the ShapeSheet and you're done.

Note this setting is a page by page basis so you'll need to change all of
your pages individually and or the template the drawing was generated from
(this only works for new pages).

Hope that helps.

Best regards

John

Thank you for your reply. I tried entering 11" into said cell.

However, this only puts the origin at the top of the page and does not
reverse the sign of the Y-axis.
