How to "forget" Sync Services items?

On a couple of occasions, I¹ve needed to reset Sync Services data. When the
dialog box comes up asking to allow syncing, the dialog box lists all
devices or applications that have ever been registered, many of which don¹t
exist. How do I reset the history of devices/apps Sync Services is aware of?
