How to Format discussion group

A

Ab Smith

Hello! I am very new with FP and I am using FP as a
classroom. The school provides us with a template. As a
default the discussion page does not provide for
paragraph formating and all words in a message are
wrapped together.

I would like to know how to change this and allow
students to post in paragraph format, which is much
easier to read.

Thanks in advance

I have the same problem. Paragraphs are not recognized by FP
discussion messages. It started when I noticed that my existing
discussion was running all words into one big paragraph. Prior to that
it would make paragraphs only if I put a blank line between them. That
was OK.

My provider traced the problem to when he updated the FP extensions
from version 2000 to 2002. FP2000 extensions work OK, FP2002
extensions do NOT work properly with paragraphing.

I have spent a lot of time on this and have never seen a website with
FP2002 extensions in which the discussion recognizes paragraphs in
messages.

It should be easy enough for the MS designers to fix because the code
of the old version worked.

This has been going on for at least a year. I have come to the
conclusion, rightly or wrongly, that Microsoft must have a marketing
strategy that involves not fixing the FP2002 extensions.

My discussion works now because my provider put my discussion web on a
server that has the old FP2000 extensions installed.

Sincerely, Stan Hilliard
