How to format tables?

I think this is two questions... a general question, and a specific problem.

How can I set the defaults that Frontpage uses for table settings. I'd like
to set most everything to a different default. My current problem is that
my tables display a dark "cell padding" border around background graphics.
I don't want any border.

I've set "0" for the border size and that works ok unless I set a background
image in a cell. Then the cell shows a dark border equal to the width of my
cell padding. How can I make the cell padding border white like the rest of
the table?

thanks for your help.

FP will remember the settings you choose here.

Set padding to 0 as well.

This shouldn't happen. Normally the background image fills the whole cell
regardless of the padding. What do you have for cell spacing? How about
showing us the html for the table?

I'm not sure about what you mean in your "defaults" question. If you want
different defaults for different tables, there are two ways you can do it.
One would be with CSS. The other would be to make sample tables, each one on
a separate page. Then you can just insert the appropriate page where you
want a specific table.
