How to get Administrative Project Tasks of Timesheet

I've published vacations as tasks from an Administrative Project. The Tasks
page (Timesheet) for the users shows the vacation, but the user can't get it
off the timesheet. Attempt to hide it returns the error:
---------------------------
VBScript: Microsoft Office Project Web Access 2003
---------------------------
You cannot hide this task for one of the following reasons:
* It is a delegated task that you are a lead for
* It is a summary task with existing subtasks
* It is a nonproject time task defined by the server administrator
* It is a task transferred from Outlook
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Does anyone know how to get these tasks of the timesheet?

Thanks,
Dean

Users cannot hide tasks from administrative projects in their timesheet.
Please say more about why the user wants to remove this from the timesheet,
since the user will probably need to submit vacation sometime.

Dale,

Thanks for replying. I'll use myself as an example...I am an Administrator
on the Project Server system (including PWA). I created an administrative
project and had tasks for all the preparations for the Microsoft Partner
Program. I have a task dated 5/17/2004 with the title Sign Up For Partner
Program. I have completed this task...the % Complete column in Project Pro
shows 100%. However, this task still shows up on the timesheet. I am using
the Current Tasks view.

At this point, the only way I can get these tasks off the timesheet is to
delete them from Project Pro.

Thanks,
Dean

Unfortunately, this is how administrative projects work. The tasks remain
on the user's timesheet, no matter whether they are completed or not. Are
you sure you should be using an administrative project for your purpose?
Perhaps it would be better to use a regular project that contains
administrative-like tasks. Just a thought. Hope this helps.

Dale,

Right. You and I have had this discussion before. The more problems I'm
having with the product, the more I'm leaning toward not using
administrative projects at all.

Now this: Do you know how to change an administrative project to a normal
project. I know I check the box when I initially save the project, but is
that setting anywhere else after the fact? I've been searching for it. The
reason I'd like to do this is that I've got Issues and Documents associated
with these projects and I don't want to delete and re-create them.

Thanks,
Dean
