how to get external data

Hi,
I am try to get data from external database using ODBC.
When i am chosing the table I am getting the message.
"The Operation failed.There too many indexes on the table.
Delete some indexes and try again."
I am using acess 2000.
If I will upgrade my office I will solve the problem?
Is any other way??
Pls Help
