How to get file manager to open with a default view/location?

I would like to be able to choose a default view for file manager so that
when I open "my computer" it always opens to location (a specific folder)
that I choose. The default is My Computer. I would like for example that it
opens directly and shows the folder C:\documents & settings\user\my documents
and its subfolders/files.
Is this possible?

"file manager" ?
That is a term I have not heard since Win95 (or perhaps Win3.1?)
Windows Explorer perhaps?
If so, then just create a shortcut to C:\documents & settings\user\my
documents

As this does not appear to be on Office question, I can only suggest
that you post to a newsgroup for your operating system or give details
of such here if you need re-direction.

Thanks Alan, good ideas. Yes, I know, file manager... What can I say, old
