How to get insertion pointer to appear after pressing Enter?

In Word 2003 Professional, when I press Enter, the Insertion Pointer does not
appear at the beginning of the next line of text, to show me where my next
typed letter is going to appear. (I already know about wordwrap.) How do I
get Word to make the Insertion Pointer visible after I press Enter? Thank you.

Where does this happen? At the end of the page? At the beginning of the
page?

Does the insertion point move to the next paragraph when you start typing?
If so, what you are seeing could be caused by a section break following the
newly inserted paragraph. To see the section breaks, press Ctrl+Shift+8 (or
switch to Normal view). If there is a section break, you can temporarily add
an empty paragraph before it (by pressing Enter). Then Word should behave,
when you are adding paragraphs. This excess paragraph should be removed when
you have finished editing the document (or this particular portion of the
document).

On the other hand, if the added text "disappears," there might be a problem
with the column formatting in Word. Click Format | Columns. Click the "One"
option, even if it already seems to be selected. Make sure "Apply to" is set
to "Whole document," and then click OK. If this happens with new blank
documents as well, you will have to open normal.dot as a document (see the
"To make other changes" section of the article at
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customization/CustomizeNormalTemplate.htm) and
perform the same fix there.

Thank you Stef Blom, for answering my post; however, I still need help. To
answer your questions: This problem happens in all situations in which I use
Word 2003. It happens at the beginning, middle, and end of the page. Second,
the insertion pointer moves, invisibly, when I press Enter, to where it is
supposed to go. The text does not disappear. The annoyance to me is that the
insertion pointer is not visible. I simply want to see exactly where my next
typed word is going to appear before I type it.
Thank you again for your reply. I hope to hear from you again.

I tried switching to 500% Zoom and back. It didn't help. Thank you anyway. I
do see the insertion pointer when I click the mouse. .

I solved the problem of the Invisible Insertion Pointer by going to the
Control Panel, double-clicking the Keyboard icon, and on the Keyboard
Properties window that appeared I moved the Cursor Blink-Rate indicator from
"None" to "9". Then I opened WORD and checked the Insertion Pointer and it
was visible and blinking after I pressed Enter--which it was not doing
before. Problem Solved. And I must give thanks to the Lord for the
inspiration to go to the Control Panel and look for a way to adjust the
Cursor. I had this motivation that the solution had to do with an adjustment
I had made in the distant past to the blinking cursor.
