How to get more glue on a lifeline?

In a sequence diagram, I have an object with a long lifeline, more than 20
inches. It seems that at some point, those blue glue points on the lifeline
no longer appear. This is a bug or a "feature" in Visio? Is there anyway
to get an indefinite number of glue points.

Did you try increasing the magnification or a screen refresh?
It does help in some cases.

None of the is that problem.

Basically, if I expand an item beyond about 20 inches, the blue glue marks
just stop. This seems to be fore other objects besides the lifeline.
