How to get rid of Calibri as standard font in PPT?

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

In my powerpoints - as in my other documents - I prefer Arial as standard font.
I have made a 'ppt-format' as a standard to start from, including two standard text windows with the Arial font in it. However, ANYtime I copy text into it from other sources, this text appears as the Calibri font.
HOW CAN I CHANGE THAT?

and:

How can I make my personal 'ppt-format' open automatically whenever I open a new ppt-document?

Thanks for any help!

Hello,

Just as a starting point, I'm assuming that you created
your own PowerPoint template
(.potx file) by more or less following the steps in the
PowerPoint Help, "Create and apply your own template" section.

I'm also assuming that you changed the font on the Master
slide by using the steps in PowerPoint Help, "Modify a slide
master". Remember that if you haven't changed the default
font in the slide master, the font you selected won't be
applied to anything but the current slide.

Also, make sure you've actually selected the placeholders
on the Master slide, and then changed the fonts.
If you just put the cursor in the placeholder and then change
the font without selecting the placeholder itself, the
font will not be changed.

You may already know this, but even though you've created
a new presentation template and saved it, it won't automatically
open when you open a new presentation.
In order to use your template, use File - Project Gallery
and click on the My Templates category. Your template should
be in there.

The PPTFAQ site at http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00245.htm
contains information (at the bottom of the page) on how to
save your original template as the default, that always opens
when you open PowerPoint. However, the folder
configuration for PowerPoint 2008 is different, so the
steps on the PPTFAQ page don't work (at least, they didn't work
for me).

Did quite a bit of searching and Googling around, but no
useful information on how to set your own blank presentation
that opens every time. If you find something on this,
let us know. In the meantime, I suggest using Project Gallery
to open your own blank templates. It's a few extra clicks
of trouble, but it does work.
