How to Get Rid of Drawing Canvass Completely?

I don't want to use the Drawing Canvas, how do I get rid
of it completely? I've unchecked the box under Tools,
Options, General, insert drawing canvass for autoshapes.
Sadly, the drawing canvas still appears when inserting
charts. Please someone help me to get rid of this awful
thing....it drives me insane!

Hi Mandy,

If you're using the Chart applet you're inserting an object. The object has its own 'editing canvas' (Insert=>Object=>Microsoft
Graph Chart or Microsoft Excel Chart (i.e. you're editing within the Object 'container' with its controls).
