How to get the dial up dialog box and not a automatic dial up?

Till today my computer will always prompt for the password to connect to
internet. ( i like it this way so only i could connect and no one else). All
the sudden today it just dials attomaticlly and does not go through because
the password is not saved (and i don't want it to be saved).I only have this
problem with connecting to internet through internet explorer and firefox.
When i connect through outlook the dial up dialog box pops up. Which setting
do i have to change inorder to get internet explorer not to conect
attomatically
