How to get the readability statistics to actually display?

I am not able to get the readability statistics to display in Word 2007. I
have gone in through Word Options, Proofing and selected the command but the
statistics do not display once I check my document. Only the word count is
displayed. Yes I've gone out of Word and back in to save the command - still
no display of statistics.
