how to give an automatic number

Hello
I am working on a invoiving workbook the issue is that everytime i
wana issue an invoice i have to manually put the invoice number
manually and today i have messed up by skipping an invoice number is
there is any way that allows me to have a new number each time i wana
issue an invoice ?

8 INVOICE # 00117-2008

The sheet is named as well with invoice number

Is there is any way to have them or one of them automaticly ?
