Seems like a simple thing but I cannot find the answer anywhere. The default of course is for the cursor cell to move down, vertically. Am new to the Mac so maybe I'm just missing something. In my PC version, Excel 2007, you could change this by hitting the big Windows button, Excel options then advanced. Can't seem to find this in the Mac version.

Thanks.

You just haven't looked hard enough. Go to Excel-preferences-Edit Tab. It's
the third option on the left.

.... But why modify the behavior of the return key when both Tab & Right
Arrow already serve that purpose?

What about not moving the active cell when pressing Enter or Return?[/QUOTE]

That is not an option on the Mac. On the PC there are separate enter and
return keys. Not so on the Mac.

If you have a full keyboard hold Command & press return/enter on the numeric
keypad. On a laptop hold fn+Command while you press return/enter.
