How to I drop an jpeg Image in to a Word Doc

John

I am looking to drop a jpeg image into a Word Document, but I only want to
include Thumbnail sizes (just like Windows reduces when you send to a mail
recipent). My jpegs are stored full size, thats about 550k each, but via the
e-mail Windows way these reduce to 30k's or so.

Word seems to balloon the document size if I drop in the orininal jpeg sizes

How can I reduce?

Thanks

I hope it's not too obvious a comment but it's much better to use graphics
software for resizing images. When saving to jpeg, you'll be given the
option of reducing quality/increasing compression - if you're aggressive
with the compression, that in itself can reduce the file size by a factor of
ten. And then, or instead, you can reduce the physical size of the image - a
50% reduction (linear) reduces the file size by a factor of four.

Ideally, reduce the image size to that which you want to appear and then, if
the file's still too big, you increase the compression on the jpeg to reduce
the file size - but watch out for the point where the image degradation is
starting to be noticeable.
