From your post, my understanding on this issue is: you want to know how to
identify a watermark in Word XML. If I'm off base, please feel free to let
me know.
Based on my research, watermark is, actually, an ordinary v:shape object,
except that watermark's z-index attribute defined in v:shape style is an
extremely small value '-251657216'. This extreme value ensures that the
shape object cannot be edited directly by users. Therefore, I think we
could rely on z-index to determine whether it is a watermark.
