How to identify the names of the computers on the LAN/Workgroup?

Q101676, Q210088, Q148835 retreives important computer
information like windows log-on name, workgroup name,
domain name, and computer name.

I also need to identify

1. what windows operating system is installed on the local
computer (Windows 95/98/Me/2000/Xp/2003)
2. the computer names or ip addresses of the computers
connected to the LAN or those which are members of the
same workgroup of the local computer.

Please help me. Share the MS Access 2000 Module code for
these please.
