how to import a Publisher doc into word

I need to use CMYK colors so I want to use publisher or better InDesign to
create a 6 panel brochure and then bring it in to a word file I have made to
hold all my project deliverables so I can convert all of the pages in my
proposal to a PDF to send to the client. So I need to know if I can import a
brochure made in Publisher into my word document?

Word does *not* support CMYK & No, you can't import Pub or ID files into a
Word doc. The typical workflow is exactly the *opposite*. Do your text
content in Word if you wish, then place the Word doc into Publisher or
[preferably, if you have the opton available] ID to do your layout with
graphics & generate the PDF from the ID file.

Ok so now that my whole proposal is in word and it has to go with the
deliverables comps I need to do in InDesign how do I get my word doc. into a
new ID file to start working there on the rest of my comps that need to be
done in CMYK.

Based on your original post I had the impression that you are already
familiar with the use of ID & Publisher. If that is not the case perhaps you
would be better off completing the content in your Word doc & hiring someone
to assemble the final product for you. If you have a deadline you may find
that learning to use either of the 2 programs for a project like this may
take longer than you would like.

I'm not sure where the distinction between 'some in CMYK, others not' comes
in to play based on what you have written. If the final job is printed
commercially the whole job will use CMYK process printing, not just
individual pieces of content (unless Spot Colors are designated). If the job
is to be presented as a PDF for on-screen viewing or not to be commercially
printed, CMYK isn't a factor - other printing devices & displays can't
reproduce CMYK accurately, so there's no need to specify CMYK colors in the
file - in fact it is typically better that CMYK color *not* be used if the
job isn't going to press.

I must admit that I'm ignorant on the subject of project management (I'm
assuming) buzz-words, so your references to "project deliverables" &
"deliverables comps" don't give me a clear picture of your need & intent.
Perhaps that lack of understanding is preventing me from offering something
more productive for you. If you can educate me a bit about the nature of the
component content & clarify the points above I'll try to offer some
constructive suggestions.

You're looking to go in the wrong direction :) Place (Import) the Word doc
into the InD publication (or Pub file). Also, Word doesn't support CMYK.

You can output several different qualities of PDF directly from InD, with
Publisher you're more limited.
