I am experiencing a problem in trying to usefully import Earthlink emails on
my hard drive into Outlook 2007. It's possible to import them as a csv file,
but the attachments were stripped and there are no dates on the emails. I
thought about installing Earthlink Total Access on my new computer so I could
import the dat files from Earthlink Mailbox, but their tech support states
that it isn't compatible with Windows Vista on my new computer (thanks,
Microsoft).
Someone earlier (one year ago or more) suggested the following advice:
Any help would be very much appreciated. I have spent way too much time on
this problem, but the emails are really too important to leave behind.

Get an account on an IMAP server (a few bucks) or install and run your
own (free) Synch TotalAccess or Mailbox with the server. Synch the server with your new emal client.
