How to import from Publisher into Word?

I made a diagram in Publisher and want to insert it into my Word document.
What is the best way to this?

I have tried to group all the Publisher objects together and then cutting
and pasting it into Word. However, many of the elelments are missing after
the paste.

I have also tried to save the file as a gif, tif and jpg and in Word use
Insert > Picture > File, and while the entire graphic is shown, it is
compressed and the resolution quality is quite poor.

Using Office 2003 on stand alone XP PC.

thx for any suggestions!

There is no effective way to do so - Word & Publisher use completely
disparate document structures. However, in Publisher's File> Save As dialog
you can try using the Save As Type for a Word 97-2003 document or one of the
other similar choices... Just don't expect too much from it.

Publisher can save very acceptable images. Save the image as a .png. There are
resolution choices, try the 300 dpi. Insert into Word.

Thx a mint for the reply CyberTaz! Good to know this info. Unfortunately,
when I tried to save it as a Word file, it said I would only be able to keep
the text. I pressed Continue anyway to see what would happen and it came back
with an error msg saying it could not be done.

cheers,

Your solution worked like a charm...yippeee! I will need to do this a lot so
this is great! Thx also for mentioning to change the dpi...something I might
have overlooked in my anxious state.

Hey, glad to help... Try using Publisher when you need graphic intensive
publications. A lot less grief.
