How to import Mail archive from Windows Mail into Outlook 2002?

Under Windows Vista, I started to use Windows Mail, which replaced Outlook
Express.
Now I have a Smart Phone, and need to synchronise it with my PC.
For the synchronisation I need Outlook.
So I installed Outlook.
Now I need to migrate my mail archive from the Windows Mail folders to the
Outlook folders.
When I try to export from Windows Mail, I get an error "Error during
initialisation of MAPI".
When I try to import in Outlook, I get a message thet the folder cannot be
opened, because it may be in use.

How to get my mail from Windows Mail to Outlook 2002?

Outlook 2002 is not fully compatible with Vista, outlook 2003 & 2007 are

This is not helping me.

It should be possible to export from Windows Mail to "Outlook" format.
ANd then I can import into Outlook 2002.

However, I get this error message if I try to export from Windows Mail.
I have searched under Vista and Windows Mail, bu do not see a solution to
this error message.
