How to import non enterprise projects

Jeff

We have recently purchased WPS 2003 but would like to
import the projects we have been working on locally for
the last year. How can we make them Enterprise projects
as well as have a WSS site for each one?

Launch Microsoft Project Professional 2003 and log into Project Server, then
click Tools - Enterprise Options - Import Project to Enterprise. Pay
special attention to the page that allows you to map local resources in the
project with enterprise resources in the Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope
this helps.

Jeff,

If you read between the lines of Dale's post what he's really saying (not that I want to put words in your mouth Dale - sorry if I'm assuming too much) is that you should setup your enterprise resource pool BEFORE you start importing projects. Then the mapping should be pretty smooth and straight forward.

As far as the WSS sites go, just make sure your project server administrator (if it's not you) has configured the project server to create the sites automatically when a new project is created. This works really well for us. And, if you don't want to create the sites automatically, it's really pretty painless to do it after the fact.

You "read between my lines" correctly. Thanks for the clarification about
the Enterprise Resource Pool. :)
