OneNote does not support OLE, so any type of interaction with a spreadsheet
or other external document is not available in the current version.
You can use Insert menu | Document As Picture... to place a "printed
image" of an Office document onto a OneNote page, where it can be
annotated, or find one of the OneNote power toys which will allow any
application to "print" an imge to OneNote.
OLE support has become "expected", due to it availability and functionality
in other Office products (since 1995 ??). Are there any plans or BETA dates
for OLE to be added to OneNote.
This has a direct bearing on a project I am developing a spec for at this
time.
I would probably not want OneNote to support OLE. A link to the actual file
would suffice as I believe as a note taking program, it should probably just
stick with that. If it did include OLE and users embedded a lot of such, the
memory usage I imagine could be quite horrendous.
just a thought
