how to import or track stock quotes in excel

I have a class project were i have to track 12 stocks and import it into
excel. I also have to include calculations for dividends and splits. I have
no clue about stocks and would like to know how to get started. Any help
would be appreciated.

Try the Microsoft MoneyCentral site, it should show you how
to get quotes into Excel their website. You can get an idea of some
worksheets set up for tracking your transactions in the related areas
of http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/stocks.htm
look for Sheldon. That should get you started on your homework.

This newsgroup is for setting up Excel to run, I trust that you are
already up and running as far as Excel is concerned.

The excel.misc is a better general purpose group; however, only general
help not specific homework solutions. Information on searching
