How to import PDF file and maintain quality of picture?

When I try to import a complex PDF file into Powerpoint, the imported picture
which is shown in powerpoint has a much lower quality, e.g. text can barely
be read. The imported PDF file has a size of about 1800 kB.
Is this because limited space in the windows /Office clipboard?
If this is the reason: How can I increase the capacity in the clipboard?
Other suggestions?
Im using Poweropint 2003, and Adobe Reader 7.0

There are a few options with PDFs, here are my common approaches:

1. If using the full Acrobat application (not just the reader), it has the
option to copy page to clipboard at highest resolution. Go to EDIT >> COPY
TO CLIPBOARD >> in PowerPoint just PASTE in (note, in PPT 2007 this pastes
in as an object and cannot be modified beyond resizing).

2. Open PDF in Photoshop and save out as a .jpg.

3. Use SnagIt to capture the PDF, do any basic editing in SnagIt, then COPY
ALL and in PowerPoint PASTE.
