How to increase the button image quality (on Office Toolbar?)

David

Hi There!

I've got Microsoft Office XP Shortcut Bar 2002 and I added lots of shortcuts
to the toolbars.

However, the icon image quality of the buttons on Office toolbar is really
bad. It's now worse because most of my icons are Windows XP alpha icons and
when added to the Office toolbar, I can't even recognize that icon anymore!

How do I increase the image quality of the buttons shown on the Office
toolbar?

Note: I know I can use Explorer toolbars as a replacement. But I do not want
to.

Thanks!
David

So far as I know, there's nothing you can do. The Office Shortcut Bar
isn't really compatible with the new icon format created for Windows XP
and IE 6, and Microsoft has decided to abandon rather than update it.

After I "upgraded" my Win2K system from IE5.5 to IE6, the IE and OE icons
on the OSB looked so bad that I retrieved copies of the old program files,
placed them in a specially-created folder name "OldStuFF", and modified
the shortcuts to use the icons from those programs.

David--

As Gary said I don't know how much you can do to increase the acuity or
image quality without a 3rd party icon program, and some work, but you may
be able to make them the way you can make task bar buttons bigger in XP:

Rt. click the desktop>properties or type "control display" or go to the Ctrl
Panel and on the appearances tab>advanced>pulldown>item (on the pulldown)
select "caption buttons" which controls the buttons on your task bar and
might impact this toolbar.
