How to input location of document on a document itself?

When working with a lot of data documents I forget where I saved them. I know
there is a way to automatically input into a document itself the location
(folder) of it. Usually it is found on the bottom or the side of a document,
like a footnote. Can anyone help me please?

If this is Word 2003 or earlier, open the footer pane, which causes the
Header/Footer toolbar to appear. On that toolbar, click the Insert AutoText
button and choose "Filename and path" from the menu.

If it's Word 2007, click the Office button in the upper left corner and
click New. In the search box at the top of the dialog, type the word
filename and press Enter. You'll be shown a template to download from
Microsoft Office Online named "Building Blocks for inserting File Name and
Path in the Header or Footer". Click the Download button and follow the
instructions there.
