How to insert a file from Word Doc1 to Word Doc2

Office Word 1997 on XP allowed a file to be inserted into another file
(Insert-File-Insert from Explorer Menu). Word 2007 on Vista does not appear
to allow this, and the Help setup is, I find, hopeless.
