how to insert a image without resizing?

I am trying to insert a picture of the size 2527 by 910 pixels in a MS Word
document (version Office 2007). The image can be inserted successfully. but
on the document, the image is resized to a smaller size. The view of the
document is 'web layout'.

How can i insert a picture of original size? is there any image property
that should be set?

Pls help me.

Having the pixel size doenot really help without the resolution required. Ie
an image of the pixels mentioned at 72 dpi will be larger than one at 300dpi.
Go to the original application that the pixel image has come from and it
should tell you the dpi, it may even tell you the original cm/inch size, this
would be helpful.
I have Photshop and this tells me this information under Image, Image Size.

Anyway, once you have this information, you can then resize the image once
inserted into Word, or even use a borderless table cell, set to the required
size, when image is Inserted, it resizes autoamictally to the cell size.
Beware the cell probably will have internal margins set, so if you need
precision, these will have to be taken into account.
Best of luck

Actually, as soon as I insert an the image, it is resized automatically to a
smaller size. but, I would like to keep the image on the document in original
size. What default property of the document/image, makes this effect?

I use 2003 and so I right click the object, Format Object, Size and do the
necessary changes.
In 2007 I believe you double click the object and look for the object
specific tabs in the Ribbon, is their one called Size, or has 2007 change the
name?

Word is not a image edit application so it does not have much function when
it comes to images. When inserting an image from file, regardless of the
original resolution and size, Word will do what is wants. I believe that this
is controlled to a certain extent by (in 2003) Tools, Options, General, Web
Options, Pictures but I have always used this as an export function - not
import.
What is the original image dpi and size in cm/inch?
When you say it resizes to "a smaller size", exactly what is happening, what
resulting size do you get? Is this in a table cell sized appropropriately?

Hi DeanH,

Am not trying to edit the picture with word. am just inserting it using the
menu insert > picture > from file.

After inserting, the image is smallar. It is smaller than the original.
such issues I havent come across while working with 2003.

I was not suggesting you edit the image, I was just reiterating that Word
does not handle some images very well because it is not a image editing
application.
What format of file are you trying to insert? Have you tried converting to
another format, jpg, png, etc?
What is the resultion of the original image?
What is the original image size in cm/inches (not pixels)?
What is the resulting size in Word?
